Consultation on Universal Access (UA)

Countries according to the 2006’s Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS committed to provide universal access to HIV  Prevention, Treatment, Care and Support services to all those in need by 2010. And moving towards universal access can help countries to achieve MDG. Currently the 3rd national HIV strategic plan and the health sector strtegic programmes for 2011-2016 are being developed. And this is an appropriate time for the country to review Universal Access status with all the relevant stakeholders and ensure the relevant recommendations are incorporated into the final plan documents. Thus a consultation meeting, organized by Bangaldesh’s National AIDS and STD Programme with the support of UNAIDS, is to review the current status as well as reset the target aiming to achieve the MDG by 2015.
